As someone who has been to every beach in New York City so far Rockaway Beach is the best in my opinion.

From surfers to swimmers to the Ramones, everyone wants to “hitch a ride to Rockaway Beach.” Rockaway Beach is a year-round resource for residents all along the Rockaway peninsula, and it comes alive each summer from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend with millions of visitors

1)Its Only One Block From The Subway
With only fifty-eight day left to summer hundreds of New Yorker’s will flock to Rockway beach via the A-train.

Not only is this beach super accessible by Train but also by Bus as well as Ferry!
Getting to Rockaway Beach and Boardwalk
By subway: Take a Far Rockaway-bound train or Rockaway Park-bound . All stations on the between Beach 90 St and Rockaway Park-Beach 116 St are a short walk from the beach. On the , use any station from Beach 67 St to Beach 36 St. On weekends from Memorial Day to Labor Day, service is extended to Rockaway Blvd.
By bus: Take the Q22 toward Rockaway Beach Blvd, the Q35 or Q53 SBS toward Rockaway Park-Beach 116 St, or the Q52 SBS toward Arverne.
By LIRR: Take the Far Rockaway branch from Atlantic Terminal or Jamaica to the Far Rockaway station. Connect with the Q114 bus toward Far Rockaway-Seagirt Blvd for the beach.
By ferry: Take the NYC Ferry’s Rockaway route to the beach.
Getting to Jacob Riis Park
By bus: Take the Q22 toward Rockaway Beach Blvd or the Q35 toward Rockaway Park-Beach 116 St and exit at Jacob Riis Pk Rd/Bath House.
2) There Is Street Parking and Parking Lots.

Importantly to know that the parking lot is not very big at all.
Also of course the day off the week and time plays a huge part in parking availability.
Certainly the earlier you arrive the better your chances are in scoring a parking spot.

3) Pretty Decent Restroom’s
While I understand that “Clean Bathroom” is extremely subjective.
I would have to say that Rockaway Beach does have some of the cleaner beach bathrooms in the city.

I also love that the bathrooms are very close to the actual beach only a few feet away!
Of course the later it gets the more people start to use the fatalities so things do start to get a little tricky for lack of a better word.
4/5) Beautiful Beach and Boardwalk
Along the stretch of the Boardwalk you have local vendors and shops.

And then you have the beautiful Atlantic Ocean beach itself!

I love it here, the water is clean and the beach is well kept.
Unquestionably it is really is my happy place!
6)Rockaway Beach Snack Bars

Location: Beach 86th Street, Beach 97th Street, and Beach 106th Street, Rockaway Beach Boardwalk
Rockaway Beach Snack Bars are located on the Rockaway Beach Boardwalk in Queens. Menu items vary by location. The 106th Street Caracas snack bar offers arepas, which are corn flour- pita like rounds filled with a variety of ingredients

The 97th Street location has 8 different counters offering items from burgers, to beachy Korean fair, Italian ices, and lobster rolls.

Certainly a lot of good food options to choose from.
