Tropix On The Bayou-Nautical Mile Will Make You Smile.

Advertisements

About an hour out of New York City on the South Shore Of Long Island.

You will find the village of Freeport.

In fact Freeport is where you will find the Nautical Mile and some of best seafood Long Island has to offer.

One of the restaurants along the Nautical Mile is Tropix on The Bayou.

TROPIX

Along with its beautiful outdoor deck and spacious indoor seating area you will love it here.

Clearly there is a New Orleans theme going on here.

Of course I thought that was really cool!

Especially since I love me some New Orleans and their amazing culinary scene.

With that being said I was eager to check out the menu to see if the dishes were also New Orleans influenced.

To my delight their menu is.

They prepare delicious dishes like Tropix Gumbo & a Bayou Burger.

Now lets talk food.

I arrived around there about 12:30p for lunch.

There was no wait when I got there.

At this time the restaurant was only moderately crowded.

OUTDOOR DECK

Which was nice and a huge difference from the wait times at most New York City restaurants.

It should be noted that this restaurant does not currently have a Brunch Menu.

Firstly I started off with some classic Margaritas.

CLASSIC MARGARITAS

The drinks were good but not great a bit watered down in my opinion.

Next the waiter brought out the appetizer.

I decided to go with their Baked Clams.

BAKED CLAMS

Now I must say these clams were absolutely delicious.

Served fresh with just the right amount of fresh herbs and bread crumbs. Yum!

Last but certainly not least it was time to dig-into my entree.

A popular local favorite the Lobster Roll.

Served on a bed of lettuce with a side of French Fries.

LOBSTER ROLL w/FRENCH FRIES

Not only was the Lobster super fresh but also succulent and meaty and very tasty.

The roll was buttery and soft just as it should be for a Lobster Roll.

On the whole I really enjoyed my dining experience at Tropix on The Bayou.

And would absolutely recommend a visit here.

Most definitely a nice summer hangout vibe!
