I love the home town feeling that I get when I walk into the Pies & Thighs restaurant.
The first time I visited this restaurant I just felt a sense of warmth.
That feeling you get when you are invited into a new family.

First and foremost let me just say this restaurant is very popular.
Before I visited I read that the wait time can be quite long for weekend Brunch.
So I intentionally visited on weekday.
Especially since I hadn’t made a reservation prior to my visit.

First I started off with a small bite and some coffee.
I ordered one of their delicious “Butter Pecan Crunch”donut.

My doughnut was soft, buttery and delicious.

Next it was time to take a look at their Brunch Menu.
Everything on the menu looked so good, but I was really in the mood for some fried fish.
So I decided to go with their Fried Catfish Box.

The Fried Catfish box came with two pieces of their Cornmeal-fried Catfish.
Along with cornbread, tartar sauce, pickles and a choice of one side.
I opted for their Grits and added some cheese as well.

Everything was delicious the Catfish was nicely seasoned light and flaky.
Not only were the Grits nice and hot but also very creamy and savory.
Last but not least it was time for Dessert, which was a choice of four pies.
- Apple Pie
- Banana Cream Pie
- Bourbon Pecan Pie
- Sour Cherry Pear Pie
Clearly this was going to be tough choice to make but I decided to go with the Banana Cream Pie.

In closing let me just say there is a reason this restaurant has been around for over ten years.
It really is that good!.
