Celebrating the Lunar New Year with dim sum.

Lunar New Year is the beginning of a calendar year whose months are Moon cycles, based on the lunar calendar or lunisolar calendar.
This year the Lunar New Year began on Tuesday, February 1
2022 is the Year of The Tiger.
The tiger represents bravery, confidence & strong will!

There are many ways this holiday is celebrated in the Chinese culture.
From fireworks to firecrackers to large feasts celebrated with the family.
Included in that celebration is the consumption of Dumplings.
Dumplings are eaten during Chinese New Year because the dumplings themselves look like money pouches and are said to represent fortune and prosperity in the coming year. On top of that, it is a great way for the family to spend time together.
Dynasty Dim Sum on New York’s upper east side offers a unique twist on traditional Chinese Dim Sum.
Dynasty presents a home cooking tradition coupled with an elevated experience presented to China’s elite royalty throughout the ages.
With its extensive menu, large space and full bar Dynasty Dim Sum offers a nice dining experience.

There was no wait time when I arrived at the restaurant.
Here is what I ordered while there.
To begin I started off with one appetizer.

This dish was absolutely delicious, the combination of the sweet Crystal Shrimp and lightly steamed Dumpling was a perfect marriage.
Next, I decided I would order a small plate for my entree. I wanted to save room for dessert.

Let’s just say I made the right choice in picking the Fried Lobster Dumpling.
This dish is prepared with lobster & shrimp fried in a crunchy wonton skin .So good!
Finally it was time to try the coolest looking Chinese buns for dessert.

The Piggy Bun was my favorite of the two,the red bean was a game changer.
