Is Oeste Kitchen the best Brunch spot in Oakland?

On my most recent trip to San Fran I decided to spend one day in the city of Oakland.

I wanted to explore the city, take a tour and have some Brunch afterwards.

So I decided to have Brunch at Oeste Kitchen and Bar an multi-cultural women owned business.

We offer exemplary dishes by focusing on fresh, organic and sustainably farmed California ingredients, where weโ€™ll fuse our familyโ€™s Latino recipes with Southern flavors and techniques.

I had a 3:00p Saturday afternoon reservation for Brunch with the girls.

When you first walk in there is a bar, the seating area and some stairs in the back which lead to their rooftop.

At Oeste, we are committed to providing a warm, inviting and inclusive atmosphere, offering wonderful food for the soul and pouring the highest quality spirits, wines and beers.

I really liked the decor and aesthetics of this restaurant.

The restaurant was not very crowded when we arrived, there was plenty of seating available.

Now lets talk food.

First we started off with some of their signature Brunch cocktails.

Brunch Cocktails from Oeste in Oakland

Henny Espresso-Hennessy, Mr Black Coffee Liquor, Frangelico

Oeste Haze-El Silencio Mezcal, Lime, Ginger, Agave

Purple Dahlia-Dahlia Cristalino Reposado, Lemon, Agave,
Sauvignon Blanc, Butterfly Pea Tincture

I had the Henny Espresso it was very good and strong.

There was a nice balance of the coffee liquor and Hennessy.

After that we ordered two portions of their country styled potatoes for the table to share.

The potatoes were good and tasty but nothing to exciting.

Last but not least we have the entree which was their Cheesy Shrimp & Grits.

Which on this extremely rare occasion everyone ordered the same Brunch dish.

C H E E S Y S H R I M P & G R I T S

Wild caught Georgia shrimp, creamy grits
Add crumbled bacon $3

All in all we enjoyed the cheesy shrimp & grits dish.

Conversely If I was to ever visit Oeste again I would try something different.

Although this dish was good it definitely lacked a bit of flavor.

To sum things up I really loved this space and the vibe here.

I would love to go back for dinner or even their Happy Hour!
