How old were you when you found out that New York had a Little Thailand?
I was basically today years old when I found this out!
But that is just what the magic of living in this New York City brings.
There is always a hidden gem or something new and amazing just around the corner.
Earlier this month I had the chance to meet up with two of my closet friends for lunch.
We were all in the mood for something delicious,comforting and inexpensive.
So after a few back and forth messages in the group chat we decided on Thai food.
Without a doubt Thai food as a whole checked off all of two of those boxes.
But if I wanted guaranteed deliciousness then we were definitely going to head over to The Spicy Shallot in Little Thailand.
“Authentic home-style Thai food, with a Japanese Sushi Bar, has helped this family owned eatery cement itself as a must-visit place for both residents and visitors alike. “
The space inside of Spicy Shallot is fairly small but there are two outdoor seating areas.
I visited on a Monday afternoon and I arrived around 2pm.
The restaurant was not very crowded when I arrived.
It is really a cute spot with a lot of Instagram worthy photo ops!
Now lets talk food!
First we started off with some cocktails.
Strawberry Mojito โ

After that we dug into some of their absolutely delicious appetizers.

Not long after that we got into our entrees, in which we all shared.
- Crab Meat fried Rice –crab meat, onion, tomato, carrot, scallion, egg
$ 20 - Grilled Marinated Pork Chop –served with steamed vegetables and jasmine rice

Finally we ended the meal off with some mouthwatering desserts!

In closing I would totally recommend The Spicy Shallot for anyone looking for delicious authentic Thai Food.
Both the foods and drinks are amazing and their customer was really good.
Lastly I would highly recommend you make a reservation if you plan to visit.
