Did you know that Jollibee’s was crowned the best fried chicken in New York by Eater.Com
The Philippines’ Jollibee has been hailed as the “best fried chicken chain in America” by a United States-based food website.

So being a avid fried chicken lover myself of course I had to give them a try.
Historically Popeyes fried chicken has been my go to chicken spot.
And that particular franchise is very popular here in New York city.
But Jollibee seems to be here to take their throne.

Jollibee is fast food done right. Specializing in fried chicken, burgers, spaghetti & Filipino dishes.
I was really excited to experience this new type of cuisine from the Philippines fast food style.

There are currently five Jollibee New York locations.
I decided to check out one of their two queens locations.
There is a Jamaica Queens location and a Woodside Queens location.
I visited the Woodside Queens location at 6229 Roosevelt Ave.

This location is a pretty decent size with take out as well as dine- in options.
Now lets talk food.
I wanted to try a few dishes since it was my first time here.
And since it was a nice day out, I decided to do take out and have lunch in one of the nearby parks.

First I started off with a Spicy Fried Chicken combo.
2 Pc Chickenjoy w/ 1 Side
A drumstick and thigh of our signature Chickenjoy fried chicken served with 1 side. Served with a side of gravy for dipping. Choose from regular and spicy.

The chicken was really crispy and nicely seasoned.
Their Mash Potatoes and Gravy definitely have a different flavoring then some of the other fast food chains.
I really enjoyed both the chicken and mash potatoes.
After that I tried one of their most popular dishes the Palabok Fiesta.
Palabok Fiesta
A traditional Filipino noodle dish covered in garlic sauce, sauteed pork, shrimp, and egg. Note: Palabok sauce contains shrimp and pork that cannot be remove
Not only was this dish delicious but also highly elevated considering it is supposed to be a “fast food”fare.
Following that I tried their promotional Halo-Halo.
Jollibeeโs halo-halo has mung, garbanzo and white beans, plus shaved ice, coconut, evaporated milk, colored gelatin, jackfruit, sweet banana, two flavors of ice cream and caramel flan.

Unquestionably one of the most unique desserts I have ever had.
Again the fact that Jollibee’s puts so much thought and culture into their dishes really impressed me.
Last but not least we have the uber popular Peach Mango Pie.
