Gatlin’s BBQ the quasi hidden gem of Houston is a must try!
Before my most recent trip to Houston I had never heard of Gatlin’s BBQ.

But all of my friends are total foodies as well as a huge fans of Bravo T.V Top Chef.
One of the chefs from Gatlin’s had appeared on one of their episodes.
His name is Greg Gatlin, and he is co-owner of the franchise.
The girls were so impressed with him and his story that they vowed to support him whenever we were in Houston.
And so we did! Gatlin’s BBQ here we come.

Firstly we had to find out the ordering process.
Meaning did we seat ourselves or did we order and then sit at a table?
After inquiring with the hostess we were told that we order first then pick a seat and someone would bring our food over. Sweet!

Next it was time for us to check out their menu and place our orders.

Clearly this was going to be a tough decision as everything looked amazing.
It should be noted that we were super hungry.
Not only because we had a small breakfast but also because we had just finished a full day of shopping at The Galleria.

For this reason the awesome hostess suggested we each get something different and share.
After discussing the menu amongst ourselves we decided to go with the hostesses recommendation.
Obviously we had to try the BBQ Ribs, in addition to this we also ordered the following.
- Pulled Pork
- Brisket
- Turkey
- BBQ CHICKEN
So basically all of the meats! Its vacation so it didn’t count towards our diets! HA!

Along with this we also ordered four side dishes which were as follows.
- Dirty Rice
- Smoked Corn
- Collard Greens
- Mac & Cheese
Can you say Drooling!

Cleary we had made the right choice as everything looked absolutely delectable.
Without a doubt this food was made with love and a whole lot of flavor too!
While eating we started up a conversation with our super cool waitress.
She gave us a little history about the neighborhood and the restaurant itself.
Because of this some really nice locals overheard and even joined in on the conversation.
Indeed this place was special and the epitome of what they call southern hospitality.
To sum up Gatlin’s BBQ is a must try!
