Lucille’s in Houston is serving up black excellence with southern hospitality as its main dish!
Get you some friends that will go straight from the airport to the hot spot!
When we were planning our Houston trip Lucille’s was the first stop on our list.
Especially after reading about the amazing legacy of Lucille’s and its history.
A tribute to a legacy of culinary excellence started almost a century ago. Lucilleโsโฏisโฏa nationally acclaimed restaurant in the heart of Houstonโs Museum District.
It should be noted that we visited Lucille’s on a Friday, the doors open at 11:00am for brunch.
Friday*, Saturday & Sunday Brunch
10 am โ 3 pm (*Fri at 11)

We arrived at around 9:30am. We were surprised to see that other customers also started showing up that early.
Undoubtedly they had gotten the same memo we did, which was to get there early!
Let me just say that this restaurants amazing customer service started upon us entering!
Because we went to the restaurant straight from the airport we were a little worried about space for our luggage.
But the hostess assured us that it would not be an issue at all, in fact people did it all the time! Wow!
Since we were one of the first customers to arrive we were seated immediately!

Next it was time to take a look at the menu, we were so excited since we had heard so many good things about the food.

Of course we started off with some Brunch cocktails.

Then it was time for us to order our Appetizers.
Our waitress suggested the two most popular items on the menu.
Fried Green Tomatoes
Seasoned Cornmeal, Spicy Aioli, Goat Cheese

Lucilleโs Chili Biscuits
Great Grandmaโs Claim To Fame

Unquestionably we made the right choices!
Both choices for our appetizers were absolutely delicious.
Literally finger licking good!
Everything was such a vibe thus far we thought what’s better than this.
Clearly we were wrong because Lucille’s basically said hold my beer!
Things were about to get even better!
Because it was now time for us to order our entrees.
Each of us decided to order something different and share.
Here is what me and the girls ordered.
Oxtail Omelette
Pulled Tails, Carmelized Onions, White Cheddar,
Crispy Shallot Salad, Braising Ju
Catfish & Grits
Fried Catfish, Cilantro Slaw, Grape Tomatoes,
Oxtail Jus, Stone Mill Grits
Croissant French Toast
with Spiked Berries /+ Add Wings
In conclusion if you are ever in the Houston area and you are looking a great Brunch spot
run don’t walk to Lucille’s.
Hell! Go directly from the airport like we did if you have to!
This spot is really that good!
