Hav & Mar arrived on the Chelsea scene back in 2022.

This seafood centric restaurant is owned by uber popular chef & restaurateur Marcus Samuelsson.

“The restaurant takes its name from the countries that have shaped his identity, with “hav” translating to ocean in Swedish and “mar” meaning honey in Amharic, the official language of Ethiopia.”

Hav and Mar immediately became a fan favorite in its Chelsea neighborhood.

---

Not only for the Ethiopian and Swedish fusion concept.

But also for the aesthetics and layout of the restaurant.

“Samuelsson says he’s drawn to the craftsmanship and collaboration throughout the space and among staff. “How can this be a place of joy?”

Paying homage to black culture was also extremely important to chef Samuelsson at Har & Mar.

“Samuelsson’s focus on Black creativity; he settled on the motif of the Black mermaid, which appears in various sizes and bright, patterned materials throughout the light-flooded space”

Now lets talk and food & drinks

Firstly I started off with some Cocktails & Appetizers as is customary.

I arrived just in time to order from their Happy Hour menu.

Along with the Lemon Drop for my drink I went with their Fish Sliders and Crab Spring Rolls for my appetizer’s.

I must say my Cocktail was delicious !The addition of the Peach Vodka to the Lemon Drop was a complete game changer!

These sliders were absolutely scrumptious the fish was prepared light and crispy. Very tasty!

CRAB SPRING ROLLS

My Crab Springs Rolls were nothing to sneeze at either. They were actually really good! But I did like the Fish Sliders more of the two.

Following that the servers brought on my entrées.

I went with their Snapper & Coconut as well as their Havatini.

Again two absolute exquisite dishes.The Crispy Coconut rice was incredible.

But that Havatini is just next level! Layers of flavor just exploding on your palette. I would recommend ordering that dish for sure!

Lastly I had a slice of their “The Chocolate Cake” to end my meal.

Although I am a huge chocolate fan I must say the cake was a little to rich for my taste.

Blogger Bag: They did not have any specialty coffees to go with my dessert on the menu so I went home and made a Green Tea Latte with my favorite Matcha Powder from Amazon.

Not only was the food incredible but also their customer service.

Which I am big on especially when I am spending my hard earned money!
