I recently had the pleasure of visiting the first French-Mexican restaurant in the Bronx Maisonetta.

Masionetta is located on the corner of 134th street in the Mott-Haven section of the Bronx, New York.

Victor Calixto and his family have called the South Bronx home for the past 16 years, moving into Mott Haven shortly after his father established a woodworking business.

Although Masionetta has only been open for little over six months it has quickly become a neighborhood favorite.

Playing host to numerous networking events and packing the house with their awesome Happy Hour menu.

The restaurant isn’t very big inside but they do have a very spacious outdoor seating area.
Ok Now Let’s Talk Food.
First I started off with a Happy Hour Cocktail.
HAPPY HOUR DRINKS
MONDAY – FRIDAY UNTIL 7PM

CLASSIC MARGARITA 6
My drink was really good, nice and strong.
Not watered down at all.
In contrast to a lot of other spots.
Whose Happy Hour drinks tend to be more water than alcohol.
After that I dug into my appetizer.

GUACAMOLE & CHIPS 16
Hass avocado, jalapeรฑo, onion, tomato, cilantro. served with corn chips
Undoubtedly this guacamole was hand made.
It was absolutely delicious full of flavor and just the right amount of kick!
Conversely the corn chips were nice and crunchy, lightly salted, really good.
Next it was time for my entrรฉe.

PAN SEARED SALMON 30
Atlantic Salmon served with provencal roasted potatoes, garlic broccoli rabe, white wine capers sauce
In the same way my entree was absolutely scrumptious!
I ordered my salmon medium well and it was prepared to perfection.
Since broccoli rabe and capers are two of my favorite foods their combined flavors were delightful.
Last but certainly not least there was room dessert. Whohoo!

CHOCOLATE LAVA CAKE 11
Decadent chocolate cake served with a warm chocolate lava center topped with vanilla ice cream.
