As I continue to support some of my favorite women-owned restaurants in honor of Women’s History Month.

I would be remiss if I didn’t highlight one of my absolute favorite spots to grab a hot lunch from La Isla.

La Isla has been an East Harlem staple for over fifteen years.

“With 20 years of experience cooking in the finest restaurants, our chef is excited to present their vision to you and all our guests. Our caring and committed staff will ensure you have a fantastic experience with us.”

And I certainly agree with this restaurants mission statement.

Because for as long as I can remember the food and service here has been A+.

La Isla is located on the corner of East 104th Streets & Third Avenue.

And although the space here is not very large, they do attract a big lunch crowd.

Mainly because of their sizeable & inexpensive lunchtime combos as well as their fresh juices.

And any-day of the week the women here keep this place running like an well oiled machine!

On the weekends I like to go as soon as they open to avoid the crowds.

Conversely arriving early ensures that I get all my favorite dishes as they do sell out from time to time.

Now let talk food & drinks!

Although everything is really good here the Rotisserie Chicken combo is my favorite thing to order.

Firstly, I always start my order off with one of their refreshing tropical juices.

While I do enjoy every flavor the Coco/Coconut is my absolute favorite.

Jugos Naturales / Tropical Juices (16oz / 32oz)
Coco / Coconut
$3 / $5

Equally important in my book is ordering a side of their mouthwatering Sweet Plantains.

Maduros / Sweet Plantains
$3.50

Next up we have the dishes included in their lunch combo.

Pollo Asado / Rotisserie Chicken
Medio Pollo / ยฝ chicken
$12.00

Platos con Arroz y Habichuela / Plates with Rice and Beans

This combo is the MVP of combos in my opinion.

For the most part its pretty healthy with loads of protein and nothing is really fried.

Moreover because of the portion size you can easily turn this lunch into two meals.

Blogger Bag: I try to use the microwave as little as possible I do prefer my toaster oven for reheating leftovers. I purchased this really great toaster oven size pan for reheating from Amazon.

Which is what I typically do when I order from here.

Last but not least you cant forget to grab something from their homemade dessert menu.

Postres / Desserts
Flan
$3.50
Pudin / Bread Pudding
$3.50
Cheese Cake
$5.00
Tres Leche Cake
$4.50

Of course I have tried them all and they are all scrumptious.

Especially the Tres Leche Cake which is my favorite item from their dessert menu.

Summing up I would highly recommend La Isla.

Granted it isn’t the fanciest of restaurants.

But you truly get your monies worth and the food here is always fresh and tasty and their service is prompt!
